Addendum A: Merso Pay Merchant Playbook

This Addendum forms part of the Merso Merchant Agreement. It outlines UX, messaging, launch tactics, and optimization strategies to maximize player adoption and retention of Merso Pay within your game or marketplace.

A.1 Core UX Guidelines

1. Payment Option Placement

  • At Checkout: Merso Pay must be clearly offered alongside other payment methods.

  • Suggested Language: “Buy now with Merso Pay – 50% today, 50% later. No interest. No fees.”

2. Product Page Display

Proven Best Practice: Display the Merso Pay price (i.e., the upfront 50%) directly on the product page next to the full price.

Example: “Own for $50 today with Merso Pay (full price $100).”

This simple tactic has driven the highest conversion lift across partner games.

3. Mobile Optimization

Ensure all Merso Pay information is above-the-fold and easy to tap, especially on product pages and checkout screens.


A.2 Messaging Principles

Always Say:

  • “50% today, 50% later.”

  • “No interest. No fees.”

  • “Split payments. Instant access.”

Never Say:

  • “Loan,” “credit,” “financing,” or “debt.”

  • “Deferred payment” or “Pay later.”

  • Anything that suggests the item is owned without consequences for non-payment.

  • “Risk-free” (unless accompanied by the consequence of asset loss).


A.3 Player Education – How Merso Works FAQ

You may publish the following in your player FAQ, onboarding, or checkout screens:

Q: How does Merso Pay work? You pay 50% of the item’s value today. The rest is split into 4 weekly payments. No interest. No fees.

Q: Do I get the item right away? Yes. The item goes directly to your wallet and is ready to use immediately after your first payment.

Q: What happens if I miss a payment? You’ll receive payment reminders. If you don’t complete the remaining payments within the grace period, you will lose access to the item and forfeit your initial payment.

Q: Will I owe anything else? No. There are no late fees, no interest, and no collections. The only consequence is losing the asset.


A.4 Launch Campaign Toolkit

For a successful rollout, we recommend the following promotional actions:

In-Game Messaging:

  • Feature banner or modal for new payment method: “Merso Pay now live! Get what you want for 50% today. No interest. No fees.”

Social Media Post:

“New payment option! Buy your favorite assets with just 50% upfront using Merso Pay. No interest. No fees. Start playing smarter.”

Discord/Telegram Announcement:

Merso can collaborate with the Merchant to test and optimize for higher conversions using the following proven tactics:

  • Include full payment breakdown on hover or as expandable text.

Test button and promo copy like:

  • “Buy with Merso Pay – $50 today”
